- Vanguard comes with both Unity
45 and Unity
84 programs pre-programmed in the device. You can select from integrated
versions of Unity ranging from starter vocabularies of 150 words up
to the full Unity program with 3,000 words. These Unity programs feature
quick access to core vocabulary plus the unique Activity Row, spelling
and Word Prediction, and Page-based vocabularies. The Picture
Prediction™ feature in Vanguard actually “learns”
the user’s most common extended vocabulary choices and automatically
arranges the Activity Row icons for the most convenient access to those
words.
- WordCore 45 and 84 are included in each
Vanguard. These word-based vocabulary systems can be used quickly by
anyone who can read and spell. Adults with acquired disabilities will
find WordCore to be a powerful communication tool that can be learned
in a matter of minutes.

Access |
| Vanguard enables effective access for children and adult clients with
a wide variety of visual and/or motor skill impairments. Unique features
include:
- A 45-location keyguard accessory to aid clients in accurate direct
selection.
- Scanning access options including single and dual switch access, joystick
or mouse emulation access products. (Vanguard also provides a variety
of scanning selection routines.)
- An innovative integrated headpointing system that utilizes Madentec's
Tracker One technology. By integrating the camera system into the Vanguard
case, PRC and Madentec have combined to provide a convenient and effective
headpointing solution.
- USB and serial ports to accommodate other external headpointing solutions.
